     Well, we've all heard and heeded the call "Uncle Sam Needs You!"

Now, we must heed the call again, by encouraging all our veteran buddies to join the

American Legion Post 242!  We are having a Great Push for membership!

     We take care of our own, so please reach out to your veteran friends and neighbors, and invite

them to one of our meetings, and get them signed up fast.  We also recommend that you place

some membership applications in your favorite shops, in your house of worship, clubs and

organizations, and places of business.

     We have so much to offer to our members: friendship, benefits, emotional support, and

financial assistance (when needed).

     Please pick up a few membership applications during the Legion meetings on any Tuesday

evening, at 1930 hrs ( 7:30 PM).  Come early and enjoy some social time.

     We look forward to seeing you.  Fair Winds and Following Seas.

                                           HONOR GUARD

     Aug 13th was the opening ceremony for the "Wall That Heals".  As Commander of the

Honor Guard, I would like to tell all our members how proud I was to see the guard doing

such a great job.  While being Master of Ceremony, I had the privilege to watch our Honor Guard.

They marched as a team, posted the colors and fired rifles to honor our nations Veterans.  At

the end of the ceremony, they retrieved the colors and marched out looking very military.

     Thanks to each and every one for the fine effort they made.  They made the American Legion

look great.  I wish we had more members of their quality.
